What is the cost to run the Marathon? 

As the title sponsor of the Pittsburgh Marathon, DICK’S Sporting Goods is pleased to extend a special discount to our associates until December 15. The rates are as follows – Full Marathon $45, Half Marathon $40, Marathon Relay Team $148 and 5K $20.

What benefits are included if I sign up to be a part of the DSG Corporate Team?

 Corporate Team benefits include:  discounted race registration, Corporate Team shirt, Packet Pick Up at SSC and Race Day Hospitality

When is registration due?  

 Corporate Team Sign-Ups must be completed by November 13th and race registration by December 15th to receive the discounted rate for DICK’S Sporting Goods associates. 

When will I get the codes to activate the discount?

Those who completed Corporate Team Sign-Ups by November 13 will receive the discount code.

Will DICK’S have a corporate hospitality tent on Saturday and Sunday?

Yes, DICK’S will have a corporate hospitality tent at the Finish Line. More information will be communicated about the tent closer to race weekend. 

I want to participate in one of the races, but I’m not sure I can do it – will DICK’S provide training?

I want to run the relay, but I don’t have a team.

If you are coordinating a relay team, all participants must be DSG associates to receive the Corporate Team benefits.  If a member(s) of your team drops out, it is the team’s responsibility to find a replacement.

Does everyone on my relay team need to complete the Corporate Team Sign-Up?

Yes, everyone needs to complete the Corporate Team Sign-Up. However, only the Capitan will initiate formal registration on the marathon website and send registration information to the members of the relay team.

Can I register a family member and/or a friend? 

Corporate Team Sign-Ups through DICK’S is available to associates only – family and friends are not eligible to receive the Company-sponsored discount and must register through www.pittsburghmarathon.com.

Will DICK’S have a volunteer team?

If you are interested in volunteering for the 2016 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, please visit
www.pittsburghmarathon.com for more details. All volunteer efforts are coordinated through the Marathon Office.

How do I fundraise for the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation?

Below are the steps runners will use to register for their event and create a fundraiser. If the runner has already registered - they only need to follow steps #2-5: 

1. Click here to register for your race event

2. Create a fundraiser by visiting the DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation campaign 

3. Select "Fundraise for this Campaign"

4. Login to your CrowdRise account or create your own CrowdRise account

5. Share your fundraising page!

What happens if I need to change my race distance closer to Race Day?

Individual race transfers are available, but there is a $15 transfer fee associated with any race changes.

Will I be able to pick up my packet and race bib at the SSC

Yes, DICK’S will have packet pick up prior to the week of the race weekend for associates only. Family and friends will need to pick up their packet at the Marathon Expo. 

Is it possible to run more than one race on Race Day?

Yes -It is possible for someone to run the marathon or half marathon and participate on a relay team. He/she must run the first leg of the relay and must be officially registered for each event.

What happens if I register and can’t run the race?

There are no refunds on registration fees. If you are not able to run the race, your registration can be transferred to another employee of the SSC.  Please note:  there will be a $15 fee on all race transfers.  Your race registration cannot be transferred to a non-DSG associate.

What if I already registered before the discount codes were available?  Am I able to receive a partial refund for my race registration?

No, we are not able to provide partial refunds for anyone who registered for the race without a code.  

Is there a discount code for the Pet Walk?

No. Please visit www.pittsburghmarathon.com for more information on course rules and pet etiquette. 

Is there a discount code for the Kids Marathon?

No. Please visit www.pittsburghmarathon.com for more information. The Kids of STEEL program is conducted through local schools and will provide information.  

Can I pick up the Kids Marathon or Pet Walk packet at the office?

No. ALL non-associate packets must be picked up at the Marathon Expo.
